Stunning Inani sea beach, Cox's Bazar
Stunning Inani sea beach

I first heard the name of stunning Inani Sea Beach from Bangladeshi all-time popular novelist Humayun Ahmed when I was young. I always wanted to be there ever since I knew about this place. The beach was known for coral bed or stone where you can stand or sit for a great outdoor photography. As a tourist destination, Inani Beach was developing since 1990s. It is an emerging tourist spot where basic amenities are scarce compared to its demand. I have been traveling this beach for last 2.5 decades but never blogged this stunning beach of Cox’s Bazar. It was my failure that I couldn’t do it earlier. However, it’s never too late to promote my country’s unexplored travel destination to the world stage.

I had been been Inani Beach 6 times with family, friends and colleagues. First 3 visits were for a very short period without spending much in beach areas. As mentioned above, Inani was underdeveloped. That’s why, I was busy exploring most common places in Cox’s Bazar that every travelers do. Later 3 visits were so meaningful that beach lover should try to be there at least once in Inani Beach.

1ST TRIP TO STUNNING INANI SEA BEACH

I visited first to Inani Beach with a friend when I was graduate student in 1995. During semester break, I came to Dhaka from India. We took decision to visit Cox’s Bazar for a couple of days. And that was my first visit to Cox’s Bazar as well. Since we both were fan of Humayun Ahmed, we went to see Inani Beach without being on the beach. I still remember, he had a story book named Shomuddro Bilash – সমুদ্র বিলাস । Maybe, inclination towards this book compelled us to visit the beach in subconscious mind.

2ND TRIP TO STUNNING INANI SEA BEACH

My second opportunity came right after my graduation. I planned to be there with school friends in 1997. We had been to Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf with full on energy when we were young. Hiring a micro bus for the day trip was worthwhile. We found no resort, no shops for the tourists. Later my friends jokingly said where is your Shomuddro Bilash? I was dumbfounded.

3RD TRIP TO STUNNING INANI SEA BEACH

My third trip in Inani Beach was with my life partner Ema. It was a clear blue day in the winter of 2003. We had joy, fun and warm touch of sun in the winter. I recall, in one side there was a sea beach and on the hill side, it was Himchori National Park. We had a rickshaw ride on the marine drive road. It was so romantic. In this trip, we found shops in the nearby beach area as visitors started going there gradually. So, it was evident from my 3rd trip that Inani Beach is going to be a preferred tourist destination.

4TH TRIP TO INANI SEA BEACH

The fourth visit to Inani was with family in the monsoon of 2012. Our son Ibti was there in that tour. The day we visited Inani Beach, it was mixed of rainy, cloudy and partly sunny day. We hired a 3 wheeler for couple of hours to enjoy the ride through Marine Drive up to Inani Beach. We stopped our tuk tuk wherever we wanted and took many experimental pictures. I and Ema still cherish that trip with love.

5TH TRIP TO INANI SEA BEACH

My fifth visit to Inani Beach was totally different from any tour in 2015. It was full of life and adventure travel led to this trip. It was official cum pleasure trip. So, it was all paid trip except for personal adventurous activities. I and my colleague decided to take our bicycles to Cox’s Bazar through a local courier service. We reached Cox’s Bazar before the bicycle reached. Our plan was to roam Cox’s Bazar city with bicycle and be in Inani Beach on bicycle after completing official work. We were very excited because few travelers from Dhaka materialized this type of nomadic journey 5 years back from now.

THE GREAT MORNING ADVENTURE

When the most awaited day came, we had a heavy breakfast for the bicycle trip to Inani Beach. We google searched the distance and weather condition. All set and it was 24km from Prasad Paradise Resort, Cox’s Bazar to Inani Beach coral point. While bicycling down the marine drive road, it was surreal feeling of being a true explorer of Bangladesh. We halted few beaches for a pro photography with bicycle and sea wave in the background. What else could you ask for more of the happiness!! It took almost 2 and half hours to reach. After reaching to the Inani Beach area, we drank green coconut for refreshing ourselves. Oh my god, it was so sweet and natural drink that we reenergized just in a minute.

After exploring the beach area and taking photographs, we took joint decision that we’ll come back to the city by tuk tuk. We placed our bicycles on top of the tuk tuk from Inani Bazar. Thereafter we went to the to the Cox’s Bazar main city area for transporting our bicycles to Dhaka city. An adventurous desire of bicycling in the marine drive adjacent to the world’s longest sea beach was fulfilled in awesome style.

LAST TRIP

Ball on the Inani sea beach
Colorful ball on the beach

My last trip to Inani Beach was very memorable with entire office in February end of 2017. Note to say, it was official excursion where family member can also join. My wife couldn’t participate due to her early stage of second pregnancy. Well, we stayed in Inani Royal Resort close to Inani sea beach. We had unlimited fun in this tour. My roommate was one & only senior friend cum elder brother, Javed Bhai. This person happens to be my close buddy during my early stage of professional career because we were colleagues. And still we are.

BEACH ACTIVITIES

We stayed far away from the main hustle of Kolatoli zone where we found better peace in Inani part. Everyone had a soul dancing activity during the entire trip nearby Inani sea beach area. We enjoyed the sunset while riding on the open hood jeep crossing marine drive road. The BBQ dinner with musical spree was magical in the beach area. The endless gossip with likeminded colleagues was absolutely unforgettable till midnight. It was absolutely delightful memories with almost 50 odd colleagues together in the world’s finest and longest sea beach.

The next day, we went to Inani Beach, not exactly the coral point, but it was secluded than Kolatoli beach. Colleagues from different age group had made a small group and enjoyed the togetherness into the natural set up. One group had played beach football. It was fantastic to watch them playing. Another group with family members was taking bath in the Inani Beach sea water. And I was the only person who was capturing the moments of soul dancing activity in Inani Beach.

CONCLUSION

My personal time traveling experiences in Inani Beach area for the last 2.5 decades was simply amazing. I can tell my readers that visionary people are always ahead of time. They can see things which normal people can’t see. Celebrated novelist Humayun Ahmed envisioned southernmost part of Bangladesh as his leisure place to sharpening his creative thought process. The more you spend with nature, the more you become imaginative. That was, fundamentally all creative gurus motto.
