6 in 1 Calling for Reliving

The passage of time may reposition us, change us, sidetrack us, and even make us lose track of one another from the daily life kind of way. But there is no denying fact that the special bonding among close friends lives forever. To reminisce about the past, I call it Aligarh Calling for Reliving.

Yes, our friendship has traveled disconnectedly for more than 2 decades already. Now is the time to meet old buddies. It’s a great occasion to reunite with University days friends in India from different parts of the globe. Folks from Australia, Bangladesh, India, and New Zealand will be joining to celebrate the lighter side of life from October 5 to 9, 2019.

Initially, it supposed to be a substantial gathering but later it has settled down to a few numbers. Big thanks to those friends who would make it possible to come this far out of their busy schedule. I thank personally Jewel, Mariyam, Mubin, Rehana, and Sharif for their spontaneity all the way to make it happen. Kudos to all of you. They are the true inspiration for me to write this Aligarh Calling for Reliving blog. Having said that I’ll miss my other friends whom I knew from Aligarh days. But wouldn’t make it due to their prior engagement with family and profession.

The backdrop of Aligarh Trip

My best friend Rehana and her family from New Zealand had planned a lot earlier to visit India. Her parents wanted to celebrate 50 years’ of marriage anniversary in India, this was the whole idea. Therefore, it’s a dream tour for them to be in India for the first time. So, this was an alibi to have a reunion for all of us to be in India where bat and ball collide together seemingly. From then, another best friend of mine Mariyam, a Delhiite now, took over everything to make our reunion happen. It’s always good to have an unconditional friend like her in the group. It really keeps the group alive and kicking. I really feel proud to announce that Rehana and Mariyam are my bestest buddies from Aligarh days till now.

Fun truth of Commerce Department

Fortunately, our commerce department used to be a co-education system at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). It means boys and girls had their classes in the same classroom. Thus every other friend of ours from another department was really envious. Because they used to follow the old tradition by having separated classrooms. So, we were so lucky. Truthfully confessing, the Commerce Department of AMU had all pretty girls around, I bet. Our friends from other departments used to come and hang around in the proximity of our department to see girls with a mischievous look on the faces.

Besides fun part, Aligarh has laid my foundation where I’m currently standing now.

Yaar Calling for Reliving

Special thanks in advance to Mubin for attending the reunion all the way from Australia. Mubin used to be a Macho Man with ever smiley faces around. He’ll come to Dhaka in early October for his personal prior engagement. Jewel and Sharif used to be my good mates in Aligarh days and we all have so many sociable memories of hangouts in Aligarh. Amazingly we 4 boys will be flying together on a direct flight from Dhaka on 5th to Delhi and return together on the same route on 9th. I’m really looking forward to this memorable trip for making it more cherishable than ever. Putting altogether by reminiscing long past and recent past, we will treasure the trip till we meet again. And keeping every thought of friendship aside being cliché, we all know that – there is no friend like an old friend.
