When we visited the treasured Langkawi Island, Tourism Malaysia campaigned heavily “Malaysia, Truly Asia” in Bangladesh through newspaper and TV commercials. We were sold to visit Malaysia out of this campaign; I am not exaggerating a single word, seriously!! Their campaign’s strategy was to portray iconic places like KL City, Langkawi Beaches and Genting Highland of Malaysia and many more. That was a successful campaign because picturesque Malaysia was so compelling. Like us, many tourists visited Malaysia during that time from Bangladesh. After 3 days of exploring KL City, we were bound to visit Langkawi.

WELCOME TO THE TREASURED LANGKAWI ISLAND

We knew that there were 7-8 flights daily from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi. That’s why we didn’t rush in the early morning. Had our breakfast and did some google research before reaching to Langkawi. From KL Sentral, it took 1 hour to reach Subang Airport. After reaching to the airport, we purchased direct flight to Langkawi by AirAsia which was scheduled at 1.05 pm. We landed to the paradise island at 2.15 pm. It was drizzling till the late evening. My google research advised to stay in Pantai Cenang Beach area, that’s what I told to my Taxi driver. He understood our preference and took us to a family accommodation in The Malibest Resort. It was close to everything and on a stunning stretch of the Pantai Cenang. There is nothing special about the rooms, but they were spacious and offered everything that a family needs.

In this occasion, I also relied on local. Therefore, you have to develop all these skills as you travel more.

BEAUTIFUL EVENING SPENT AT THE ISLAND

After checking in, we had a local tea and snack outside our hotel in the cozy and breezy atmosphere. We were hungry by this time. I went to grab chicken item and finger licking snacks from KFC. I hired a bicycle for 24 hours to do groceries, my way of exploration which is my signature style. After having snack on the beach, we spent more than couple of hours at Pantai Cenang to unwind ourselves. Ibti had unlimited fun especially with sand castles and toys that he took all the way from Dhaka.

We didn’t do much activity except for beach fun on the first day at Langkawi. We came back early with groceries for making dinner and breakfast for next day all by ourselves at the resort. It is the best way to travel smartly and reasonably. After our dinner, we were watching photos on TV while talked about the entire day. This photo watching session was liked by everyone.

MORNING EXPLORATION AT THE TREASURED LANGKAWI ISLAND

Yes, this is my signature travel style. With my bicycle I went out for exploring Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah beach. It was absolute heavenly exploration of the local beaches on bicycle. When I explore this morning adventure, there was no crowd seen. Idea of my style, no tour operator or anyone can outline for any travelers. You have to make your own time. I have been doing this for a long time.

A DAY TO REMEMBER IN THE TREASURED LANGKAWI ISLAND

There’s no public transport as such in Langkawi Island. But there are options for hiring a car, motorbike, bicycle or using taxis/Uber are widely available now. You can pick and choose your preferred choices. We hired a Taxi Cab for a half day which was not expensive. Our driver cum guide took us in the Langkawi SkyCab first. To the West of the Island, near Pantai Kok, there is the SkyCab Langkawi cable car. The cable car goes up the second highest mountain called Gunung Machinchang. When we went up the mountain, it was raining heavily. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see the spectacular views of the Island from the top on that day. However, Langkawi SkyCab is one of the most popular island attractions and is a popular Langkawi tourist spot. Thereafter we had visited natural water-falls and an adventure crocodile park safari – all of us liked everything beyond words.

DEMONS BY IMAGINE DRAGON

An incident I want to share with my readers which I and Ema later found it very entertaining. Wherever we went in this tour, be it in the KL City or be it Genting Highland or be it Langkawi bound flight, roaming around in Langkawi City through the Taxi Cab – we heard a song named Demons by Imagine Dragon everywhere. Really, it went through our brain and we murmured in our subconscious mind till we reach to our home country.

UNFORGETTABLE ISLAND HOPPING EXPERIENCES

Second part of the day was ISLAND HOPPING tour which we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives. We enjoyed the trip to Monkey Island. Those monkeys were very efficient in snatching visitor’s juice bottle or can without hurting the travelers. Visiting to the Dayang Geo Forest Park for a brief moment was saddening. I wanted to explore more of this park but it was not possible due to group tour. Then having snunch (snacks + lunch) on the wooden rest to the another Island was an unforgettable experience. We really enjoyed our snunch while observing other tourists swimming in the gentle lagoon.

ROMANTIC PHOTO MOMENTS

We went to an Island which was curved stretch of white sands, it’s picturesque setting of emerald blue waters, it’s no wonder why it is considered the most popular destination in Langkawi. I, Ema and Ibti enjoyed taking snaps on swinging rope from the tree branches on the beach. I and Ema had a romantic photo moment from that tour.

LAST SUNSET AT LANGKAWI ISLAND

After coming back to the town from the island hopping, we enjoyed the last sunset at Pantai Cenang beach. When we all think of Langkawi during pandemic period, it still gives us refreshing memories. No beach experience can beat our Langkawi tour. It was one the best trips we have ever had.

BEST TIME TO VISIT LANGKAWI ISLAND

High Season: The best time to visit Langkawi for an awesome Langkawi holiday is during the driest months of December to March, as this time of year is best for beach and outdoor activities and water sports.

Mid-Season: Mid-season is neither dry nor rainy time to visit Langkawi; it spans from mid-April until August. The mornings are again sunny, but the afternoons can be overcast. I don’t recommend visiting this season with family due to heat which you may not enjoy.

The Low (wet) Season: We traveled during this period. September to October is a period most tourists tend to avoid due to rain. However, it rains only for about 2 hours a day but usually in the late afternoon and at night. So, you still get relatively dry days with sunshine, about 6 to 7 hours on an average. It is also one of the coolest months, with an average temperature around 27°C. Hence, if you don’t mind a bit of rain and want fewer tourists around, want cheaper accommodation then this is the best time to visit. I would also recommend visiting in the low season if you would love to see the rainforests & greenery.

END OF BLOGGING NOTE

I really wish my travel blog would reach one day or someday to Malaysia Tourism Board. I want to say that I am being the loyal customer from Bangladesh market for Malaysia Tourism Board. We just fell in love with this diversified country. Sometimes I think of Malaysia as my second home. Should you have financial freedom, give it a second thought.
