How come Vietnam has become a tourist’s heaven? Hearing the name of Vietnam would seem like a war-torn country. Vietnam had always been oppressed by two powerful countries. One is by French and another one is by Americans. After the independence from both countries consecutively in 1945 and 1975, the Vietnamese became friendly to the world. In this post, I’ll give a brief idea about places where I have visited Vietnam. For example, I had been to Hanoi – a noisy capital city in the first place. Secondly, Halong Bay by junk boat. Moreover, Phu Quoc Island – local Vietnamese’s desired island and finally Saigon – commercial capital of Vietnam. Later, I’ll share individual blog post of mentioned places on accommodation, food, tourist places. Through this post, my readers will get tips and useful guides in planning their staycation or holiday in Vietnam.
One week visit to a tourist’s heaven
My one-week Vietnam travel experience was inconceivable in a word that I could not express in my language. The tourism sector of this country is unique in a word. The country has a tourist’s leg all year long. One must visit Vietnam to know and understand the country’s tourism, culture, people, food, and natural beauty of the country. Before going to Vietnam, all you have to carry a visa issuance letter. And you’ll get a Vietnamese visa instantly by paying US$25 to the immigration officer at the airport. You need a copy of your passport-sized picture. The air route will be tailored as per the budget. However, my route was Bangladesh-Vietnam via Malaysia, which is a 7.5 hours flight that excludes 2 hours stop-over.
Nature of Vietnamese
As a nation, the Vietnamese are very hardworking and friendly. I observed so many things during my one week stay in Vietnam when I traveled from one corner to another. By nature, the Vietnamese are nicest, friendliest, honest, and happiest people that you could meet. That’s 4 adjectives perfectly poised with Vietnamese people. Maybe I’ll share my personal experience of these 4 adjectives in some blog posts on Vietnam. Honestly speaking, they’re very charming without being pushy, helpful, and just genuinely kind. Of course, there are some bad people around and most of the bad stories involve taxi driver scams. But in all our time in Vietnam, we’ve experienced only good things. After traveling by air, taxi, private car, bus, cruise ship, tourist coach, scooter, the bicycle, and on foot – I felt the 4 adjectives everywhere in Vietnam.
Unbelievable Scooty Culture in the tourist’s heaven
One thing was noteworthy, the whole country felt like a two-wheeler that embraced the lifestyle of every Vietnamese. I feel safer on the road when we had a great walk for exploring the city every day in Vietnam. I was surprised when I saw no traffic police on the road. Crossing the road is an adventure in big cities like Hanoi and Saigon. They are continuously moving. You have to follow the traffic signals very efficiently and smartly if you are the first timer in Vietnam. Believe it or not, I’m not exaggerating a single word.
Food in Vietnam
You haven’t been to Vietnam until you’ve eaten Bun Cha in a ballistic bowl seated on a plastic stool. We had been motivated to taste this Bun Cha when I saw the travel show in TLC called Parts Unknown. My all-time favorite traveler Anthony Bourdain hosted the show with the former American president, Obama to taste Hanoian special in 2016.
Vietnamese food will be challenging to Bangladeshis if you don’t ask before placing the order. Pork is widely available. That’s why you have to ask first wherever you go for eating foods. However, Vietnamese food is light and fresh with a few spices in general. We didn’t have any tummy aches during our stay. Visitors will find incredible fresh seafood in Vietnam with prawns costing little. I’ll share my sumptuous seafood lunch in the Halong Bay blog post in the future.
